GC Recap #34 - Sunday Morning Session, President Monson

While, the printed text is not up yet, I was so impressed and touched by this talk by our wonderful prophet this morning, I wanted to re listen to it and record some of these parts that impressed me most. He said, "My brothers and sisters, do we remember to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Sincerely giving thanks, not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven, and helps us feel God's love."

"Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has much to be grateful, if we will but pause and contemplate our blessings. This is a wonderful time to be on this earth! While there is much that is wrong, there are many things that are right and good. There are marriages that make it, parents that love their children, and sacrifice for them. Friends who care about us and help us, teachers who teach; our lives are blessed in countless ways. We can lift ourselves and others as well, as we refuse to remain in negative though and cultivate an attitude or gratitude."

"Those things that provide deep and lasting gratitude are the things that money can not buy: our families, the gospel, good friends, our health, our abilities, the love we receive from those around us. Unfortunately these are some of the things we allow ourselves to take for granted. We often take for granted the very people who deserve our gratitude. Let us not wait for us to express that gratitude. We never know how soon it will be too late."

"Often we feel grateful and intend to express our thanks, but forget or never get around to it."

"My dear brothers and sisters, to express gratitude is gracious and honorable, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live with gratitude, ever in our hearts, is to touch heaven."
